Top filler episodes
We get to see a lot more about Hitokiri and Kamiya’s relationship and how that relates to the story of a fisherman that Hitikori meets in the filler arc which begins after the episode of the legend of fireflies.
As a filler arc, it is very sweet and heartwarming because it takes you away from the main idea of the story, where Hitokiri is always trying to save someone, while fighting villains and his own past at the same time.
The last two episodes of the anime after so many years have passed are also very heartwarming, but also sad at the same time since the anime is ending. Both of these anime provide a proper goodbye to the incredible characters in the anime.

Rurouni Kenshin Plot: Rurouni Kenshin Filler List
How Much Filler is in Rurouni Kenshin?
The filler episode rate in Rurouni is remarkable. In total there are 100 episodes in the series, and there are 40 filler episodes, giving the series a score of 40% for filler episodes.
Episode 13 Strive for the grand championship! Tomamaru’s sumo battle journal
In reality, episode 13 is a filler episode. The episode was not originally intended to be included in the series, but was added later due to popular demand. In the series, it is not mentioned again after the first viewing, where it is a filler episode that contributes nothing to the plot.
Episode 14 To save a small life doctor lady Megumi to the rescue
The episode 14 served as a filler between episodes 5 and 6. A week-long break was required to honor Emperor Meiji at the time. Since the episode is technically an anime original, it never planned to appear within the series. Watsuki Nobuhiro wrote the episode, which aimed to flesh out the character of Megumi.
Episode 15 Two legendary manslayers two legendary slashers
In terms of the main plot of Rurouni Kenshin, episode 15 is merely a filler episode. The episode does show Kenshin and Heihachiro on friendly terms (which becomes important later on in the series), and it also shows that Heihachiro once opposed Kenshin, but it doesn’t add much to the plot.
In this episode, Shiden demonstrates a new sword technique from his secret sword.
The 16th episode of the Rurouni Kenshin anime series contains filler. Last week, we saw Himura Kenshin’s origin story as well as the journeys he took with Sagara Sanosuke and his encounter with Tomoe. Himura Kenshin meets Tomoe for the last time before leaving for Tokyo in this flashback. In addition, it illustrates how Himura’s character developed from one of cold-blooded killing to one who selflessly protects others.
