Which episodes are fillers in One Piece?

Although One Piece is a very intense anime, it has some episodes that don’t fit into the storyline. These are called fillers and can either be anime-original or based on manga material, but not part of the canon storyline.

For an example of an anime-original filler arc: all of the sudden men and women switch bodies and everyone has to find out who did this and how to change them back again. The story itself isn’t important for anything else than comic relief. Most other filler arcs take place between major story arcs to make more time for character development without missing any important information about the future plot as such after each break in the main storylines there’s at least 1 filler episode to introduce new characters, show their past or to make fun of the current situation. It is very rare if a filler story has something to do with the future plot at all, especially as most of the time their role is to make fun of certain parts.

Can I skip One Piece fillers?

It’s a common question for people who want to catch up with the story, but don’t have time to watch all of the anime. The answer is simple: while you can skip many One Piece fillers, it isn’t recommended!

In addition, keep in mind that nobody starts watching every running TV series from the first episode on, right? You might not be an anime beginner per se , but if I prefer newbie guides that won’t scare away new readers of manga and/or anime, then you should read the beginning part of my article too.

Should I watch One Piece fillers?

If you are already a fan of One Piece, the answer will be no. Manga stories arcs are frequently broken up with filler episodes. Even then, they end up being repetitive and not very exciting. I would recommend watching the first episode of each filler arc just to know what happens in them, but that’s about it.

If you’re looking for an anime where the episodes are all good and connected to each other (and canon), check out some Naruto fillers . Or better yet, start with Naruto Shippuden .
